Jan. 19, 1931 George Walker, 75, of Saranac, where he had lived for the past year, died Sunday morning following an illness of two years of arteriosclerosis. The funeral services will be conducted in the Saranac Methodist Episcopal church, Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock by Rev. F. Frye and burial will be in the South Boston cemetery. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Kyser will provide the musical selections. The bearers will be James Hatch, George Thurlby, Nelson O’Beirne, John Freeman, Maurice Cahoon and Jay Parsons, old neighbors of the deceased while he lived in Boston township. Mr. Walker was born in Waterfront, Canada, and had lived in Ionia county since a child of six. He had been a resident of Boston township for 53 years previous to taking up his residence in town. Surviving is the widow and two daughters, Mrs. Fred Raymond, of Saranac, and Mrs. Roy Dean of Rockford, and two sisters, one at Sand Lake and the other in California.
