Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard – Tues. July 21, 1959

Mrs. Mary Schwenter Walker, 74, of 14150 Prevost Street, Detroit, died at her 
home Monday evening.

Mrs. Walker, daughter of Nicholas and Elizabeth Schwenter, was born in Ionia in 
1885 and attended schools here and St. Mary’s School of Nursing in Grand 
Rapids. She left the local area when she was about 20 years of age.

She is survived by one son, John Walker of Detroit; one sister, Mrs. Freda 
Wadel of Ludington and a niece, Mrs. Alyn Harte of Saranac. 

Funeral service will be conducted Thursday morning in Detroit and graveside 
service will be at 2 p.m. at Mt. Olivet cemetery in Ionia.
