Ionia Sentinel-Standard Dec. 26, 2008

Melissa Kay Walker, age 32, formerly of Sparta, passed away on Monday, Dec. 22, 
2008 at Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital.

She was born and raised in the Ionia Area.

She is survived by her husband, Mark Walker; daughters, Sabrina and Rileigh; 
parents, Ernie and Marcia Ross; her twin sister, Melanie (Bill) Laffert; 
stepbrother, Todd Hallon; stepsister, Erin Hallon; in-laws, Don and Bonnie 
Walker; 3 nephews and 1 niece.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Lorraine Ross.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, Dec. 29, 1 p.m. at the Hessel-Cheslek 
funeral Home, 88 E. Division St. in Sparta with Rev. Leonard “Skip” Meyer 
officiating. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Sparta. Friends may meet the 
family at the funeral home on Sunday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Monday from 
11 a.m. until time of service. Those who wish may make memorial contributions 
to assist the family with expenses.
