The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Thursday, November 18, 1953


Mrs. Jane Walker, 90, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Raymond Roomsburg, 
993 Hackett street at 11:15 a.m. Thursday.  Mrs. Walker was born in England in 
1863.  She came to Ionia in 1912.  Her husband, Charles Walker, preceded her in 
death in 1938.

She is survived by one son, Richardson Walker of Long lake; three daughters, 
Mrs. Hudson Lewis and Mrs. Raymond Roomsburg of Ionia and Mrs. Arthur Zemliska 
of Mansfield, Ohio; 12 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. from the Myers funeral home.  
The Rev. Fr. Roger Bunday of the St. John’s Episcopal church will officiate.  
Interment will be in Highland Park cemetery.

Funeral services for Mrs. Jane Walker were held from the Myers funeral home at 
2 p.m. Saturday.  The officiating clergyman was the Rev. Fr. Bunday.

Pallbearers were the grandson of Mrs. Walker, John Walker, Leslie McMellen, 
Charles McMellen, William D. Erridge, James Lewis, and Richard Lewis.

Attending from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Charles McMellen of Fremont, 
Leslie McMellen of Saginaw, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Zenliska of Mansfield, Ohio, 
Mr. Robert Abbot of Battle Creek, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Barlett of Grand Rapids, 
Robert Marshall of Royal Oak, Mr. and Mrs. John Walker of Dearborn, Mr. and 
Mrs. William D. Erridge of Lyons, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Thorpe of Saranac, Mrs. 
Belmont Burger, Mrs. Robert McNally and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Morris of Orleans.
