He had been ill for some time and had been treated in a Detroit hospital, but recently had gone to Odin, near Petoskey, to be with his daughter, Mrs. Gilman. Mrs. Gilman sent work Friday morning of his sudden death. William Walker was born in Rochester, New York, in 1853. He was a plumber by trade and had spent the past 28 years in Ionia. He is survived by his widow, Frances Eva; three children, Anna Mae Gilman of Oden, (illegible) Walker and Alden Walker of Detroit, and a step-son, Arthur Shafer of (illegible), Washington. Funeral service will be held at a Petoskey funeral home Monday afternoon.
