Lowell Journal, 28 May 1886

Died: In Detroit, Saturday Eve. May 22, Maude Ione Walker, after a week of the
most terrible suffering (diphtheria).  She was nearly 15 years old and a lovely
Christian girl, being a member of the M. E. church.  Maude leaves a father,
mother and two sisters who mourn her early death, besides a host of warm friends
who showed their love in many ways and not least of all in the beautiful floral
offering.  The remains were brought here Monday and taken to South Boston for
burial.
