The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Tuesday, February 20, 2007
William “Bill” Albert Walker, age 61, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, 
February 15, 2007.  He was born on September 14, 1945 the son of Dr. Lloyd and 
Lorna (Riggs) Walker.  William was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic 
Church, Ionia.  He was self-employed for over 40 years as a certified public 
accountant and loved hunting and fishing.  Everyone knew him at being very 
devoted to his family.  His father, Lloyd was the Pastor at LeValley United 
Methodist Church and served as the Chaplain at the State Hospital in Ionia. 

Bill is preceded in death by his father in 2001. Surviving are his wife of 16 
years Lois, sons William (Mai) Walker II of Zeeland and Curtis (Elizabeth 
Worline) Walker of Rockford, daughter Bethany Jean Walker of Modesto, CA, step-
daughters Denise (Todd) Ward of Ionia, and Theresa (Jeff) Porta of Ionia, 
grandchildren Amanda Walker, Andrew Walker, Justin Walker, Nicholas Walker, 
and Kelsea Walker, step-grandchildren Nicole (Scott) Barber, Hannah Barber, 
Hailey Keller, Chandler Ward, Zackary Porta, Kaitlyn Porta, and McKenzie 
Porta, step-great-grandchildren Jade VanDussen, and Mason VanDussen, mother 
Lorna Walker of Hudson, FL, and brothers Jack (Jean) Walker of Hastings and 
Robert Walker of Hudson, FL. 

The Memorial Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Melvin Fox at 11:00 a.m. on 
Monday, February 19, 2007 at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ionia. The 
family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Church.
