The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Friday, April 4, 1969


The body of Marine Lance Corporal Robert Mark Walkley, who was killed in 
action in Vietnam, will arrive in Ionia late Friday.

L-Cpl Walkley was born October 28, 1947 in Lansing, and was a 1965 graduate of 
Ionia high school.

He leaves his mother, Mrs. James Mayer of Ionia; father, Robert Walkley of 
EauGallie, Fla., sister, Catherine Walkley and brother, Matthew Mayer both at 
home; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Hill of Ionia.

Funeral services will be Monday at 10 a.m. at SS Peter and Paul Catholic 
church with interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens.  Rosary will be recited at 
Boynton-Leddick funeral home Sunday at 8 p.m.  Full military services will be 
conducted by the US Marine Corps.
