Ionia Sentinel, 18 Dec 1970

Elsie M. Wall, 71, of 235 Miller died Thursday at her home while shoveling 
snow.  Coroner Dale Kauffman ruled death due to a heart attack.

She was born April 9, 1899, in Reed City the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Horace 
Nichols.  She was an employee at Pontiac State hospital 25 years.  She and her 
husband were owners and operators of Shangri-La motel on M66 at Woods road 
about four years until her husband’s death in 1966.

Surviving are three sisters, Ella Nichols of Englewood, Fla., Mrs. Grace LaGoo 
of Saranac and Mrs. Sue McPherson of Muir.

Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Myers-Roetman funeral home in 
Ionia.  Interment will be at Orleans cemetery.
