Liberty St., Thursday morning. Although Mrs. Walser had been in poor health for several years, she had been up and around all morning and had been attending to her duties as usual. Feeling ill, Mrs. Walser, realizing that her time had come, called for her pastor, who came and administered the last rites of the Catholic church of which the deceased had been a lifelong member. Mrs. Walser’s mind was clear and she recited the prayers for the dying in company with her relatives who had hurriedly gathered, realizing to the last breath all that was taking place. She had lived a good righteous life and was willing and anxious to claim the reward offered those who have lived a good life, fought their battle, and have kept the faith. Funeral services were held from St. Joseph Catholic church Monday morning at nine o’clock, Rev. Jos. A. Maler officiating and burial was made in the cemetery at Miriam. Surviving are the husband, Max Walser and five daughters, Mrs. Michael Zahm of Miriam, Mrs. Mat Ulrich of Ionia, and the Mesdames Martin Hayes, L. V. Lillie and Arthur Killman, of Grand Rapids. Three other daughters, Mrs. Wayne Keeney, Marguerite Walser and Mrs. Josephine Kammers have preceded their mother in death. Mrs. Walser was born in France and when but a child came with her parents to this country. She was married at Crestline, Ohio, and some fifty years ago came to Miriam, living on the farm now occupied by Joe Zahm until about thirty years ago when they moved to this city where they have since resided. Mrs. Walser was a true Christian wife and mother, a friend who was always willing and anxious to do a little more than her share and will be missed by a legion of people—those missing her most being those who knew her longest.
