Dec. 19 & Wed. Dec. 21, 1977 IONIA- Patrick E. Walsh, 58, of 148 East Lincoln, died Saturday morning of accidental injuries. He was born December 11, 1919 in Ionia, the son of Thomas and Violet Walsh. He married Virginia Valla in Baltimore, Maryland April 22, 1944 and had lived in Ionia since 1946. Mr. Walsh was a corrections officer at the Michigan Reformatory for 25 years, a veteran of WWII, serving with the Navy, a former member of the Moose, a member of the American Legion post in Saranac and a member of the Sheridan VFW, Survivors include his wife, Virginia; three daughters Mrs. Nancy Klein of Pewamo, Mrs. Christine Bierstetel of Fowler and Michelle of Ionia; his mother, Mrs. Violet Walsh of Ionia; four brothers, Robert of Ionia, Howard and Martin of San Diego, California and Walter of Pontiac; six sisters Mrs. Helen Beyer of Belding; Mrs. Doris Sanson and Mrs. Margaret Covert of Lowell, Mrs. Francie Stanke of Flint, Mrs. Colleen Ayers of Ionia and Mrs. Isabelle Hansen of Greenville and two grandchildren. Funeral mass is Tuesday at 11 am fromSS Peter and Paul Catholic church. Burial is in Mt. Olivet cemetery. Rosary will be recited Monday at 7:30 pm in the Myers-Roetman funeral home. Wednesday December 21, 1977 IONIA- Funeral mass for Patrick E. Walsh was Tuesday morning at SS Peter and Paul church with Rev. Father Henry Dondzila officiating. Burial was in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Employes at Michigan Reformatory serving as bearers were Gordon Murray, Jack Collier, Steven Fineis, Robert McCoy, Jack McGraw and Roman Maloney. Graveside military services were under the auspices of the Sheridan VFW post. Additional Comments: Mt.
