WALTER, MEALINDA (MRS. CHRISTIAN): 
   THE ADVERTISER, SARANAC, MI, ca. November 27, 1902:  "Mrs. Christian Walter
of Clarksville died last Thursday, aged 77 years.  She had lived near
Clarksville since 1866."

   THE LAKE ODESSA WAVE, MI, November 11, 1902, page 4:  "Mrs. Christian Walters
died at her home near Clarksville early this morning of dropsy.  Deceased was 77
years of age.  She leaves an aged husband, seven daughters and four sons.  Geo.
Walters, of this village, being numbered with the sons.  The funeral will be
held at Clarksville next Saturday.  Mr. and Mrs. Walters have lived near
Clarksville since 1866, and have always been highly respected and influential
people."
