      WALTER

Alice Walter, age 80, Saranac, passed away Friday, April 18th, 2025.She was the 
daughter of Larry and Louise Hartman. She graduated from Saranac High School in 
1964. n August 22, 1964, Alice married David Walter at Galilee Baptist Church.

Alice is survived by her husband of 60 years, Dave Walter, sister ad brother-in-
lawPhyllis and Dan Decker, children Jeff and Chris Walter (Rayanne), grand-
children Trevor (wife,Hollie),Sara and Jacob Walter and Aubree, Evelyn and Clair 
Lower. 

Alice was involved with the Walter RC Park and Ionia County Model Club. She was 
talented at growing beautiful flowers, making all kinds of crafts and taking 
care of animals including as a DNR rehab person and was always with her special 
pal, snickers. She was a proud farmer, incredible bass fisherman and loved her 
family very much.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the family home at 8550 Morrison Lake Rd., 
Saranac on June 22, 2025, from 2:00 - 4:00.pm. In lieu of flowers, donations an 
be made to Ionia County Animal Shelter. Arrangements in care of Lake Funeral 
Home of Saranac. Online condolences may be made at www.lakefuneralhomes.com.
