Walter, 72, of Morrison Lake road, Saranac, died early Thursday morning, November 15, at Blodgett Memorial hospital after being ill for a week. He had been a patient there all the time. He was born April 4, 1879, in Boston township, son of Armstrong and Elizabeth Post Walter. He was born and lived his entire life on the same farm. A prominent farmer for many years, he had operated a feed store on Main street, Lowell for the past eight years. He was a member of the Ionia Presbyterian church and the Lowell board of trade. Surviving are the wife, Bertha; a son, Bruce, of Lowell; a daughter, Mrs. Harry Myers of Ionia; and six grandchildren. The body will repose at the Myers funeral home until 4 p.m. Friday when it will be removed to the Roth funeral home in Lowell. Services will be conducted there Saturday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. George L. Rentschler of Ionia. Interment will be in the family lot, Saranac cemetery.
