WALTER, FRANKLIN J.:
   THE ADVERTISER, SARANAC, MI, OCTOBER 16, 1940, front page:  "F. J. Walter
Passed Away Friday Night - F. J. Walter, well known farmer of Berlin township,
passed away at his home last Friday night.  Born in New Paris, Elkhart county,
Indiana in 1864, he came to Berlin township with his parents at the age of
twelve.  His parents were Jacob and Anna Walter.
   He is survived by his wife, Lucy E., a daughter, Mrs Stanley Thorpe of Berlin
township, brother Perry of Keene township, two sisters, Mrs Fred Courter of
Ionia and Mrs. Clara Johnson of Hastings....."
