WALTERS, 75, DIES SUDDENLY - Funeral services were held at Morris funeral home Saturday afternoon for Fred G. Walter who died in Ionia County Memorial Hospital Wednesday, July 20, 1960. He had been ill only a few days. Rev. Howard E. Bull conducted the services and burial was made in the family lot in Saranac cemetery. Mr. Walter was born February 6, 1885 in Berlin township on his parent's farm which he afterward owned, until a few years ago when he sold to Mr. and Mrs. Leroy S. Dausman. His parents were George and Mary (Miltenberger) Walter. About nine years ago, he retired and came to Saranac where he made his home with son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Marjur on Vosper street. In earlier life he had been a member of Odd Fellows, the Grange and Gleaners but had since resigned from these activities. Survivors are his wife, Ethel, two daughters Mrs. Clarence (Audris) Marjur and Mrs. Charles (Mary Jane) Robson; and two granddaughters, Sylvia and Judy Graul, all of Saranac. Friends came from Ionia, Portland, Lowell, Lake Odessa and other nearby communities to attend the services."
