Daryl A. Walter, age 78, of Stanton, passed away Thursday, January 5, 2006 at 
Spectrum Health, United Campus, Greenville. He was born January 7, 1927 in 
Petoskey the son of Otho and Eva (Flemming) Walter. He married Shirley A. 
French March 19, 1949 in Angola, Indiana. Mr. Walter has been a long time 
resident of the Stanton area, formerly of Lansing, but primarily of Ionia. He 
retired from the Michigan State Police where he worked as a security officer. 
Daryl loved to attend all of his grandchildren's sporting events, but 
especially the basketball games. 

He is survived by his wife Shirley A. Walter; children, Rhonda and Jerry Myers 
of Belding, Diane and John Martinac of Stanton; Kelly Conner of Alabama, 
Brandi Kirby of Stanton and Steve and Deb Walter of Ionia; 10 grandchildren 
and 8 great grandchildren; two sisters Ardith Chapman of Barryton and Gayla 
Pugh of Grandville; brother Wayne Walter of Florida and special friend Randy 
Hall of Stanton. Daryl was preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law, 
Judy and Bill Russell.

In accordance with Mr. Walter's wishes, there will not be any visitation or 
funeral services held, as cremation has already taken place. The Walter family 
is being served by the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan.
