Evart—Edward W. Walter, 73, of Evart, died March 18.  He was born January 8, 
1917 in Keene Township in Ionia County, the son of Fred M. Walter and Gertrude 
M. Woodman Walter.

He is survived by his wife, Nina M. Walter; three sons, Edward Duane Walter of 
Carson City, James Edward Walter of Evart, Ronald Jason Walter of Carson City; 
four daughters, Rosalyn Marie Wright of Saranac, Linda K. Clouse of Saranac, 
Wanda Jean Newcombe of Evart, Lola Marie Williams of Sumner; one brother, A. 
L. Walter of Saranac; 22 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.  He was 
preceded in death by one son, Frederick Wesley Walter, and one sister, Leona 
Marshall.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Corey Funeral Home in 
Evart, the Rev. Jerry Walsh officiating.  Burial will be at the New Haven 
Center Cemetery.  Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral 
home.
