Ionia Sentinel - March 8, 1926
David H. Walters, aged 84, and known as one of Ionia's pioneer blacksmiths, 
died at the residence 413 North Dexter Street, Saturday night at 11 o'clock.  
His death came following a long illness.  It is stated that death was due to 
old age.  For many years Mr. Walters conducted a blacksmith shop on South 
Steele street, and will be well remembered by older residents throughout the 
county.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Jennie Walters, several nieces, nephews and 
cousins.  The funeral will be held from the residence on North Dexter street, 
Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock.  Rev. Wiggins will officiate at the service.  
Burial will take place in the Higbee cemetery.
