Sentinel-Std. - Monday, Jan. 25, 1960

John L. Walters, 70, Fenwick, died Sunday afternoon at United Memorial hospital 
in Greenville.

He had been a resident of Fenwick and vicinity the past 46 years.

Mr. Walters was born January 4, 1890 at Greenville and was married in 1914 to 
Alpha Chapman. He was associated with is father-in-law, Robert Chapman, in the 
general store business 30 years and at the time of his death was employed as a 
salesman at Peterson Auto Sales in Greenville.

He was a member of the St. Charles Catholic church of Greenville.

Besides his wife, Alpha, he is survived by a son, Robert E. Walters of Fenwick; 
two grandchildren; two brothers, Rev. Fr. E.J. Walters of Byron Center and 
Robert G. Walters of Greenville; two sisters, Mrs. Josephine Currie of Big 
Rapids, and Mrs. Emmett Culligan of Grand Rapids.

Funeral service will be conducted Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Charles Catholic 
church with interment at Clear Lake cemetery near Fenwick.

The body will be at the Stebbins funeral home in Sheridan until time for the 
service.
