Lake Odessa Wave, 1 May 1930

John C. Waltman, a prominently known Berlin township farmer and for 10 years a 
familiar figure on the Ionia county board of supervisors died Saturday 
afternoon of a lingering illness.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from the late residence in Berlin 
township and from the Berlin Center church.  Interment was made in Boston 
cemetery.

Although born in Indiana, Mr. Waltman had spent a greater portion of his 
lifetime in Berlin township.  He leaves his wife, a son Clare Waltman of 
Lexington, Ky., five brothers, two sisters and one granddaughter.

Mr. Waltman was well known in Ionia county and held many positions of 
responsibility and trust and will be greatly missed by that vicinity.
