Walton. The subject of this notice was born forty-six years ago, at Cornwell, Litchfield county, Conn., the first child of John Avery and his second wife, Rebecca Edwards. December 6, 1865 she there was married to Mr. Walton. Two years afterward they came to this city, and have resided here ever since. Soon after the birth of their only child, Mr. Fred Walton, were revealed the germs of that disease of which after a long and painful sickness she has died. In February 1886 she went to Colorado, staying in Colorado Springs some fifteen months hoping that the change of climate would arrest and ultimately free her from the disease. While the stay there did appear to do her great good, yet it was only a little lull in the progress of the complaint. Returning home it was soon seen that her footsteps were rapidly tending heavenward. None but those who were with her during the last few months of her life know of the sweet patience with which she endured her pain. But they, and her neighbors, knew the heart of a good woman, and that hers was very full of kind and loving intents, that never failed of expression with ability and opportunity. A Christian, she has sweetly shaken off the life of this life, and entered into the bliss of the life beyond.
