Wandel, 88, a longtime resident of rural Easton township, died in Ionia County Memorial hospital Thursday morning where she had been a patient for the past week. Born May 9, 1883, in Elwell, she was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles A. Ray, and moved with her parents to Ionia county while a child, where she remained throughout her lifetime. Married to L.J. Wandel in Orleans in 1901, he preceded her in death in 1950. For the past 20 years she made her home with a daughter, Mrs. Lee Hackett. She was a lifelong member of the Methodist church. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Hackett of Ionia, and Mrs. Ray Stilwell of White Pine in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. August 21, at Leddick Funeral home, the Rev. Charles Fullmer of First United Methodist church in Ionia officiating. Friends and relatives may visit the family at the funeral home Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Burial will be in Easton township cemetery.
