Ionia Sentinel Standard, 28 Feb 2015

Theodore James Wank, aged 83, went to his rest on Feb. 15, 2015, in Lansing,
Michigan.  He was born on March 22, 1931, to William T. and Doris Miller Wank in
Fort Wayne, Indiana.

He grew up in South Haven, Michigan, and attended Western Michigan University,
where he was a member of Sigma Tau Gamma fraternity.  After college, he served
in the Army before embarking on a career in sales.  He received his start from
his father at Wank’s Home Furnishings in South Haven.  He then accepted a
position at Bishop Distributing Company and relocated to the Lansing area. 
Later he founded his own firm, Ted Wank Sales, and moved to Morrison Lake near
Saranac, Michigan, then retired in Ionia, Michigan.

Ted loved nothing more than spending time with family and friends, sharing
stories, laughing and telling jokes.  He was an avid reader.  As a lifelong
animal lover, he took his dogs, “the girls”, with him wherever he went.  Also a
former sea Scout, he enjoyed the water.  

Preceded in death by his wife Annette K. Wank, his parents, and his sister Linda
Wank Dickens.  He is survived by his brothers, Donald and Eugene (Patience
Riley), his children, Bennet Jon Wayne, Charles Grinnell (Vivian), Tedi Trindle
(John), Diana Unrath (Richard), Jeryl Loyd, Andrew Wank, and Mark Grinnell (Kris
Morehouse), 14 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.  He also leaves
behind a large extended family and many dear friends.

A private family memorial will be held.  In lieu of flowers, please donate to
Ionia County Animal Shelter, 3853 Sparrow, Ionia, MI 48846.  Arrangements by
Lake Funeral Home in Ionia.
