Dennis James Ward, 31, of Hubbardston, died Monday, Feb. 17, 2003, of injuries 
due to an automobile accident.  He was born March 2, 1971 in Grand Rapids.

He married Amy Jo Johnson on Oct. 5, 1996 in Carson City.  He worked as a 
corrections officer for the Michigan Department of Corrections.  He was a 
member of the American Legion in Hubbardston.  He enjoyed hunting and golfing.

He is survived by his wife, Amy Jo Johnson, of Hubbardston; daughters, Madison 
Elayne Ward; son James Thomas Duane Ward; father James Bernard (Cherlyn) Ward 
of Muir; mother, Shirley Marion (Lasco) Ward; brothers, Ron (Deb) Ward of Holt, 
Robert (Eva Lynne) Ward, Tony Ward and John Ward, all of Hubbardston; sisters, 
Donna (Tim) Schafer, of Muir, Brenda (Robert) Porter of Stanton; step-brothers, 
Michael Hunter and Tony (Samantha) Hunter, both of Ionia; step-grandmother, 
Joyce Houserman, of Ionia, and mother and father-in-law, Dan and Betty Johnson 
of Crystal.  He was preceded in death by his brother, Bruce Ward.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Fr. William Reitz 
officiating at the Lux and Schnepp Funeral Home in Carson City.  Visitation is 
Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.  
Interment will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Hubbardston.  Memorials 
may be made to help the Ward children.
