James P. Ward, 73, of Detroit, died at the Greenville Memorial Hospital Monday 
evening.  He was born December 8, 1881, in Spencer township, Kent county.  He 
had been a resident of Detroit for 15 years and was part owner in the State 
Roofing Co.  Miss Kathleen Maloney, a niece, was called to Detroit when he 
became ill, and returned him to Greenville hospital. 

He is survived by a brother, Harry L. of Detroit; two nieces, Miss Helen Ward 
of Detroit and Miss Kathleen Maloney of Belding; a nephew, Kenneth Maloney in 
the U.S. Army.

Rosary will be Wednesday evening at 8 p.m. at the Huffman funeral home.  
Funeral will be held Thursday morning at 10 a.m. at St. Margaret’s church, 
Harvard.  The Rev. Fr. Francis Kupinski of Greenville will officiate with 
interment in the church cemetery.
