Ionia Sentinel Standard, 12 Apr 1975

Thomas J. Ward, 84, of Muir, route 1, died early Friday morning at Ionia
Memorial hospital.  Born in Spencer township, Kent county, March 17, 1881, he is
the son of Jerry and Susan Ward.  He came to Muir 54 years ago from Harvard and
was married to the former Alice Wiggins and she survives.

Besides the wife, he leaves four sons, Robert Ward of Muir, Leon and Jim Ward of
Hubbardston and Maxwell Ward of Newaygo; two daughters, Mrs. Blanch Kruger of
Muir, and Mrs. Jean Smith of Lyons; 26 grandchildren and four great
grandchildren; brother, Jerry Ward of Carson City and a sister, Mrs. Agnes
Hutchinson of Grand Rapids.  Two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Cunningham and Donna
Ward preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the St. John the Baptist church at
Hubbardston.  Rev. Fr. E.R. Fox will officiate and interment will be at the
church cemetery.  Rosary will be recited Saturday and Sunday at 8 p.m. at the
Burns-Schnepp funeral home at Carson City.
