Herbert Henry Ward, 45, died suddenly at his farm home on Ronald township 
Friday morning about 2:30 a.m. of a heart ailment.  Born July 7, 1895, the son 
of William and Anna Shannon Ward, of Easton township, he had lived his entire 
life in Ionia county.  He married Hazel A. Brooks December 4, 1927 in a 
ceremony performed in Ionia by Rev. Hurrell.  They lived in Ronald township 
for a short time and then lived for five years in Easton township.  Following 
the death of Mrs. Ward’s mother the couple moved to the Brooks homestead in 
Ronald where they have since made their home.

Surviving are the wife, Hazel; his mother, Mrs. Anna Ward, of Easton; one 
brother, Hiram Ward, of Mason; three sisters, Mrs. Elvira Evans of Grand 
Rapids, Mrs. Mary Gustafson of Ionia, and Mrs. Bernice Erdmann of Milwaukee, 
Wis.

Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock from the farm 
residence in Ronald and interment will be held at the Easton cemetery.  Rev. 
Paul L. Stewart will officiate.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. from the residence in 
Ronald township for Herbert H. Ward who died suddenly Friday morning.  Rev. 
Paul L. Stewart officiated and interment was held at the Easton cemetery.

Bearers were Sidney Munn, John Stedman, Millard Stedman, Floyd Stone, Ray 
Peterson and Hershel Lake.  Floral arrangements were in charge of Mr. and Mrs. 
Ernest Beach, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Whipple and Mrs. Bertha Thayer.

Among the throngs of relatives and friends present were Mr. and Mrs. Fred 
Evans of Grand Rapids, Mr. and Mrs. Hiram Ward, and Helen Ward, of Mason, Mr. 
and Mrs. A. L. Erdman of Milwaukee, Wis., Mrs. Nellie Robertson of Ionia, Mrs. 
Myrtie Peck of Ionia, Mr. and Mrs. George Whitmore of Vickeryville, Mr. and 
Mrs. Stahlin Shannon and Mrs. Kate Shannon of Belding, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hall 
of Grand Rapids, Mr. and Mrs. John Whitmore, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Whitmore, Mr. 
and Morris Whitmore, and Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Wilson of Shephard, Miss Margery 
Whitmore of Mt. Pleasant, Mrs. Myrtle Wood and son, Charles, of Greenville, 
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Basley of Jackson and Mr. and Mrs. William F. Wycoff of 
Greenville.
