IONIA- Pearl W. Ward, 76, of Ionia, died May 4, 1995, at her residence. 

She was born June 11, 1918, in Ionia, the daughter of John E. and Mary A. 
(Graves) Chapman.

She was the owner and operator of the Ward Adult Foster Care home on Bluewater 
Highway in Ionia for many years.

She is survived by three daughters; Sonja M. (Gene) Reed, of Ionia; Mary A. 
(Thayne) Helmer, of Ionia; Susan L. (Steve) Solomon, of Saranac; three sisters: 
Rhoda Raber, of Grand Rapids; Anita Spangler, of Lake City; Laura Swailes, of 
Ohio; 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at the Lake funeral Home in 
Saranac. The Rev. Scott Anderson will officiate. Interment will be in Easton 
Cemetery.

Visitation will be Saturday 7 to 8:30 p.m. and Sunday 2 to 4 and 7 to 8:30 p.m. 
at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Helping Hands Hospice. Envelopes are 
available at the funeral home.
