Lewis Donald Ward, 86, of Ionia passed away from this earth Saturday, Feb. 13, 
2010. He was born April 27, 1923, the son of Morris and Edna (Rathburn) Ward.

Lewis married Sondra on Sept. 28, 1961, in Muir.

He served in the Navy as a gunners mate in the South Pacific during World War 
II.

Lewis worked for Electrolux for many years until retiring. He was a member of 
the Easton United Methodist Church for 45 years.

He was preceded in death by a young son, Ricky Ward, a grandchild, a brother 
and two sisters. Lewis is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Sondra; four 
stepchildren, Annette (Ken) Blanchard, Connie (Brad) Mulford, Diane (Duane) 
Denman and Christopher Getts; 10 grandchildren and four great grandchildren; 
daughters LaDonna (Harry) Block of Flint, Linda Worthington of Texas, Jolene 
Farrell (Vic) of Orleans; sons Don (Cathy) Ward of Ionia, William (Carol) Ward 
of Belding and Terry (Judy) Ward of Comstock Park; 17 grandchildren and several 
great grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place and there will be a memorial Service at 4 p.m. 
Sunday, Feb. 21, 2010, at the Easton United Methodist Church with Pastor Nancy 
Patera officiating. Anyone wishing may make memorial contributions to Ionia 
Area Hospice or charity of choice. Arrangements by the Lake Funeral Home in
