September 30, 1954 IDENTIFY MAN FOUND DEAD ON RAILROAD TRACKS The boy of a man found inside the Chesapeake & Ohio railroad tracks at the eastern outskirts of Lake Odessa Sunday was identified Monday by Sheriff Ben Neve as that of James K.Ward, 52, an itinerant. The sheriff said fingerprints sent to Lansing determined identification. He said police records show Ward last had given his address as Ringling Brothers circus. Previously, Neve said, Ward had listed Anniston, Ala., and Utica, N.Y. as his home. Police were attempting to locate relatives Monday. Deputy Clarence Aldrich, said the man apparently was struck or fell from the east-bound C & O freight train that passed through at 8:30 p.m. Saturday. Coroner Dale Kauffman said cause of the death was a head injury. Martin Cox, of Lake Odessa, discovered the body when he was walking along the tracks to take a look at the new Lake Odessa sewage disposal plant. The body was taken to Pickens funeral home here.
