January 5, 1917 WM. WARD DIES SATURDAY AFTER SUFFERING STROKE OF APOPLEXY WM. WARD Wm.Ward well-known farmer living just west of town, was stricken with apoplexy Saturday afternoon and died that evening. The stroke overtook him while he was at the home of Mr.and Mrs. Harry Green. Dr. McLaughlin was called and took hime to his own home. He breathed his last about 9:00 'clock. The funeral was held in the Liberal United Brethren church Wednesday forenoon at 11:00. Rev. I.H. Mourer preached the sermon, and music was furnished by a mixed quartette, consisting o Mrs.G.F. Bonebrake, Miss Verda Gattner, Mrs. Bert Mourer and Rev. Bonebrake. The remains were interred in Lakeside. The deceased had lived alone on his farm west of the village since the death of his sister,Mrs.Elizabeth Bell, a short time ago. He is survived by two nieces, Mrs.Chas.Begerow and Mrs.Lafayette Lepard, and three nephews, Wm.Bell of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Chas. Bell, also in the west, and Bert Bell of Charlotte.
