Ionia Sentinel-Standard – Wed. Feb. 10, 1999

Walter Lee Ward Sr., 63, of Palo, passed away at Carson City Hospital Monday 
afternoon.

He was born in Kent County, the son of Arza and Cecile (LeJeun) Ward. He 
attended Detroit area schools and was an odd job laborer. 

He lived in Palo since 1966.

Survivors are a son, Walter Ward II of Palo; a daughter, Cecile Ward of Grand 
Rapids; two brothers, Richard (Florence) Ward of Lyons, and Harry (Veronica) 
Ward of Ionia; two step-brothers; two step-sisters; and two grandchildren.

Visitation will be Wednesday, 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services are 3 p.m., Thursday 
at Hull Memorial Chapel with Rev. Paul Carmichael officiating. Burial will be 
Sunset Memorial Gardens.
