Ware was born Oct. 16, 1848, in Berlin township, Ionia county, Mich. When he was seven years of age his parents moved to their home in South Boston, where he spent the rest of his life. In December, 1868, he was married to Miss Letti Ford, and to this union were born two sons and a daughter, the latter passing away in infancy. His second marriage occurred Sept. 28, 1888, to Mrs. Mary J. Misner. To this union was born one daughter, Jessie Audie Ware, who passed to the better land in her 17th year, October 7, 1908. Mrs. Ware died September 20, 1919, and since then Mr. Ware has lived at his old home and with his son in Lowell. It was while living in the latter place that he was taken with his last and only illness and was confined to the bed about four weeks. He leaves to mourn, two sons, Jay Ware, of Hastings and Ray Ware, of Lowell, also six grand children, five great grand children and other relatives and friends. Mr. Ware was a kind neighbor, always ready with a helping hand and pleasant word and his life was helpful to those that knew him. The father, mother and sister, passing away before, he was the last of one of the prominent pioneer families of South Boston and he leaves a heritage of honesty, integrity and frugality. He was ready and anxious to go and meet the friends who were waiting him on the other shore. Amid loving care he passed to his reward January 12, 1922. The funeral was held at the residence of his son Ray Ware in Lowell Monday afternoon. Rev. H. H. Harris officiating, music by Mr. Sterkins, accompanied by Mr. Stocking. Friends and relatives were present from Hastings, Lansing, Freeport, Saranac and South Boston. He was laid to rest by the side of his wife and daughters in the South Boston cemetery.
