Ionia Daily Standard, 24 Oct 1900

William H. Warfield of Lyons died last night at 7 o’clock at the age of 64
years.  Mr. Warfield will be remembered by the older Ionians as proprietor of
the old Sherman house – the present Wagar block building.  He was born in
Jackson county, Michigan, and came to Ionia when 17 years old, and has resided
continuously in Ionia county since.  Funeral on Friday at 2 p.m. from Lyons
Episcopal church.  Interment in Lyons township.  Deceased leaves four children:
John E. of this city, Mrs. David Powers of Grand Rapids, Mrs. Jesse Weed of
Lyons, and Levi B., also of Lyons.  The wife also survives.
