Russell Waring Passes Away
Russell Waring, 86, of Elk Rapids, former Ionia county resident and well known in
this area passed away Thursday morning at a Mt. Pleasant hospital. He and his wife had been 
spending the winter with their daughter Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Kock.

He was a native of Sebewa township and his parents were Edgar and Julia Goodemoot 
Waring. After his marriage to Cora Peacock, September 3, 1901, they owned and
operated a farm in Sebewa before moving to Elk Rapids where they operated a fruit farm.

Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Kock and Lois Waring of Mt. Pleasant;
two sisters, Mrs. Mary Andrews of Largo, Fla., and Mrs. Jessie Oatley of Kewadin and a
brother Homer of Kewadin.

Funeral services were held at Elk Rapids Saturday at  2,  with burial there.
