Daily Standard - Tuesday, Feb. 12, 1918

Charles W. Warner was born near Elyria, Ohio, on April 27, 1850, and came with 
his parents to Lebanon township, Clinton county, in the fall of 1854, where he 
resided until 1868, when he came to Berlin township, Ionia county. On Dec. 25 
of that year he was united in marriage to Miss Elnora P. Dunham, settling on 
the Silas F. Dunham farm south of this city, where he resided until nineteen 
years ago, when he came to Ionia, where he lived until he passed away on Feb. 
2, 1918, at his home, 232 Adams street. 

He leaves to mourn his demise, his wife and two daughters, Mrs. Minnie Campbell 
of this city and Mrs. H.C. Shepardson of Oakland, Calif., two granddaughters, 
Mrs. R.C. Waldron of Cleveland, Ohio, and Mrs. V.A. Anderson of Oakland, 
Calif., two brothers, W.E. Warner of Charlotte, Mich., and G.W. Warner of 
Rocksprings, Mont. 

Funeral services were held at his late home on Saturday afternoon; discourse by 
Rev. R.J. Slee of the Methodist Episcopal church; Mrs. R.A. Colwell and Mrs. 
John Hodgkins rendering two beautiful selections. The bearers were: F.C. 
Macomber, T.J. Way, F.C. Way, D.L. Harwood. 

The beautiful floral offerings expressed the love and esteem in which he was 
held by a host of admiring friends. Having endeared himself to many by his 
patience, ever-ready kindness and sympathy for all who came in reach of the 
warmth that radiated from his beautiful nature. 

A loving husband and father has passed on leaving a vacant place which can 
never be filled. Interment was in the Balcom cemetery near his old home, where 
he had spent the best part of his life.
