May 31, 1951 RITES HELD MONDAY FOR JACOB WARNER Jacob Warner, 96, resident here for the last 52 years passed away at this home Thursday night. He was born in Seneca County, Ohio but came to Michigan when 15 years of age to make his home with William Swinehart, son of his foster father. Following his marriage to Ella Irene Martin, they resided on their farm in "Old Rosina" east of town until moving to town in 1899 because of his health. After moving here he sold machinery and was employed at the George Reiser Lumber Co. and Byron Goodsell hardware store also served as Village Marshall for many years. Three deaths in the family have occurred just 20 years apart. His daughter Lily, twin sister of Mrs. Rose Irwin, passed away in 1911 and Mrs. Warner passed away in 1931. Mr. Warner was a member of the Methodist Church since 1912 and was a lifelong member of the IOOF Lodge. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. David leak, lake Odessa, Miss Maude Warner of Detroit and Mrs. Irwin with whom he made his home; three grandchildren, Donald Irwin of Lansing, Keith Leak of Clarkston and Mrs S. Dorothy Costello of Inkster and three great- grandchildren, David and Keith LaMan Leak and Linda Sue Constello. Funeral services were held Monday at 2 at the residence with the members of the IOOF lodge as honorary pall-bearers. Rev. J. Lawrence Ward of Coopersville officiated with burial in Lakeside cemetery.
