April 28, 1926 ANOTHER FAMILIAR FACE GONE FROM US Resident of Lake Odessa Five Years, 21 Years Member of K.of P. Father of Mrs.Lillie Trowbridge. Luther F. Warner who has made his home here in Lake Odessa for the past five years came here from Saginaw to the home of his daughter, Mrs. Lillie Trowbridge. He has helped in their shop here and has made many friends. He was a quiet, much admired character. He has been a member of the First U.B.Church for several years. He held a membership in the K. of P. Lodge for 21 years, transferring his membership from Saginaw to the lodge here. Luther F. Warner as born at Kenduskeag, Maine, July 7, 1854. Passed away at Ann Arbor, April 22, 1926, at the age of 71 years. He was the son of John and Mary warner and was the last of a family of ten children to be called to his eternal reward. Mr.Warner came with his parents to Midland, Michigan when about six years of age. He attended the Midland schools and later was united in marriage to Amanda Ratan, July 4, 1879. Shortly after this event they moved to Elmyra, New York. Four children were born to them, two boys and two girls. After the death of his wife Mr.Warner came back to Midland, going later to Saginaw where he remained for a number of years, coming here to make his home with his daughter five years ago. About that time he was converted under the Newall Evangelistic party and was a member of the First United Brethren church until his death. Surviving him are one son Fred Warner of Grand Rapids and one daughter, Mrs.Delos Trowbridge, also a niece, Mrs.Joseph Yotz of Midland and two grandchildren. The funeral service was held in the U.B.Church of which he was a member, officiated by his pastor April 26, 1926, at 2 p.m.. the remains were laid to rest in the Lake Side Cemetery there, to rest until the coming of his Lord. We stood near the crossing, And saw him go through, Bright Angels received him, And bore him from view. There is sorrow among us, For ah! never more, Shall his loving form greet us, On entering the door. But he awaits us in Heaven, To welcome us there, In the Mansions above us, All in glory to share.
