Warner, 26, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Warner of Lake Odessa, was fatally injured late Sunday evening in an automobile accident while enroute back to Sea Level Coast Guard station in North Carolina after visiting friends. He had been stationed there since August 28, 1960 when he was transferred from cape May, N.J. He previously served three years with the Army and joined the Coast Guard about three years after he was discharged from the Army. He was a member of the Civil Air Patrol of the Williamston Flight, and had spent a short time in the Naval Reserve in Lansing. He was born at Williamston November 25, 1934 and attended Williamston high school. Surviving are his wife, Marla, who resided with him at the base; a son, Christopher; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Warner of Lake Odessa; three sisters, Mrs. Fred (Maxine) Nowland of Dansville, Mrs. Al (Donna) Shushtari of Lansing, and Anita Warner of Lake Odessa; and one brother, Robert of rural Woodland. The body will be taken to San Antonio, Texas for burial.
