Elsie D. Warner, age 96, of Punta Gorda, Fla., passed away Wednesday Sept. 5, 
2007 at HOM nursing facility in Port Charlotte, Fla.

She was born in Modesto, Ill. on Sept. 10, 1910 the daughter of Olen and 
Tessie Austin. Elsie and her husband retired to Florida in 1970 from Ionia and 
were the first residents of River Forest Village Mobile Home Park. She was a 
member of the Cleveland United Methodist Church.

She is survived by two sons, Robert L. (Dorothy) McKinley of North Port, Fla. 
and Cheboygan, Mich. and William A. (Donna) Warner of Springfield, Mo.; three 
daughters, Lois K. White of Rochester Ind., Cherie A. Peabody of Belding and 
Rebecca L. Fry (Bill) of Punta Gorda, Fla.; 22 grandchildren; 33 great-
grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Melvin “Bill” 
(Violet) Austin of Waverly, Ill.  She was preceded in death by her husband 
Karl R. Warner, sons Donald E. McKinley and K. Dana Warner and granddaughter, 
Linda McKinley Laishley.

Memorial services will be held Sept. 15, 2007 at 2 p.m. with visitation one 
hour before at Kays-Ponger Funeral Home in Punta Gorda, Fla. In lieu of 
flowers, contributions may be made to Tidewell Hospice in Port Charlotte, Fla.
