Ionia Sentinel-Standard – Mon. Dec. 27, 1971

Mrs. Irene Mary Warnke, 69, of ill died early Monday morning at Ionia Manor 
following an illness of about five months.

Born in Montcalm county February 10, 1902, she was the daughter of James and 
Nettie Heminger Jack. She attended the Barton rural school in Montcalm county. 
She was married in Belding, October
 23, 1929 to William E. Warnke and lived in Saginaw and Grand Rapids before 
moving to Ionia in 1951.

She was a member of St. Johns Lutheran church and its Ladies Aid.

Besides her husband, William E., she also leaves a son, Gary of Cincinnati, 
Ohio, and daughter Mrs. Byron Hodson of Ionia; four grandchildren; brother, 
Cecil Jack of Sheridan and sister, Mrs. Jennie Stevenson of Howard City.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 pm at St. Johns Lutheran church. Rev. 
A. R. Gallert will officiate and interment will be at Balcom cemetery.

Mrs. Warnke is at the Leddick funeral home where the family will receive 
friends and relatives Tuesday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm.

A memorial has been established for St. Johns Lutheran church.
