H. Warren, mother of Mrs. Lindley, lay silent and cold. Mrs. Warren expired at 7:30 Christmas morning during a second attack of paralysis within two days, having suffered the first stroke Wednesday morning. She was 83 years of age, and had resided with her daughter, Mrs. Lindley, for the past 13 years. Mrs. Warren’s maiden name was [unreadable first name on the copy I have] Taylor, she having been a [unreadable] of the late Mark Taylor, a former resident of this community. She was born at Sodus, N.Y., June 17, 1830, and came to Plymouth, Mich. with her parents when a girl of six years. Forty-two years ago she came to Portland. Her first husband was J. Baker, and shortly after his death she was married to Daniel H. Warren, at that time a resident of St. Johns. Her children are James Baker and Mrs. Alonzo Lindley, of this place. Rev. Wm. W. Slee of the M.E. church, with which denomination Mrs. Warren had been affiliated for 42 years, conducted funeral services at the residence Saturday afternoon at 2:00, and the remains were interred in Portland cemetery.
