She was the daughter of Orry and Mary Hart Waterbury and came with her parents to Ionia in 1864 and lived here most of her life. For many years she lived with her parents and her younger brother, Orry, Jr., at 318 North Jefferson street. At one time Miss Waterbury was employed at the Girls’ Industrial School at Adrian where she was an instructor in dress making. Following her return to Ionia she did dress making for private customers. During the years she resided in Ionia she was an active member of the First Baptist church which she joined over 78 years ago. For many years she held the position of church clerk. She attended many association and state meetings of the denomination. Miss Waterbury is survived by three nephews, M. Barton Waterbury of Portland, Ore., Ralph W. Powell of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Stanley M. Powell of Ionia, and one niece, Mrs. Earle D. Harrison of East Lansing. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. from the Stone-Kauffman funeral home. The Rev. Alfred E. Miller, pastor of the First Baptist church, will officiate. Interment will be at Oak Hill cemetery. Subsequent Publication, October 5, 1959 Funeral for Miss Della June Waterbury, 95, was conducted at the Stone-Kauffman funeral home Monday at 2 p.m. Miss Waterbury died October 2 at the Clark Memorial home at Grand rapids. The Rev. Alfred E. Miller, pastpr of the First Baptist church, officiated and burial was at Oak Hill cemetery. Bearers were Norbert VerPorter, Hiram Darling, Archie Boltz, Charles McFaden, Ormison Hilborn and Benjamin Carter. Attending from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Earle Harrison of East Lansing, Mrs. Patricia Van Syoc of Belding and Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Carter of Lake Odessa.
