The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, May, 2009

Shirley J. Clement Waters, formerly a resident of Ionia, passed away May 16, 
2009 in Matthews, N.C. at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, William and 
Anita, where her family had gathered around her. 

Shirley was born June 9, 1933. She was a nurse and worked for Ionia Manor and 
Ionia County Memorial Hospital. She and her husband Miles (Bud) served as 
managers of the Ionia Little League before retiring.  Many people will 
remember her as being fond of snowmobiling and traveling to northern Michigan 
for camping trips with friends and relatives.

She is survived by her 6 children, William of North Carolina, Jeralee and Lon 
of New Mexico, Keith of Florida, and Dee Thayer and Patrick of Ionia; 8 
grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.  Her spirit will remain strong in 
our memory. 

She is preceded in death by her husband Miles, and brother Gordon Clement of 
Illinois. 

She was cremated on Monday, May 18.
