Ionia Sentinel-Standard - Tues. Jan. 25, 1994

IONIA- Royce C. Waters, 80, of Ionia died Jan. 24, 1994, at the Ionia County 
Memorial Hospital.

He was born November 10, 1913 in Easton Township, the son of Fred C. and Grace 
(Conner) Waters, and attended Haynor School and was graduated from Ionia High 
School. He was married to Evelyn Moore, October 30, 1936 in Grand Rapids. The 
couple have lived in Ionia since their marriage.

He was employed for 35 years as a driver-salesman for Peschke Packing Company, 
retiring in 1970. He was a member of the Zion United Methodist Church where he 
had been a trustee, and he actively helped with the maintenance of the church 
grounds. He was also a member of the Ionia Fish and Hunting Club.

Surviving are his wife, Evelyn; two daughters, Janet Seidelman and Barbara 
Hurlbut, both of Ionia; one son, Robert Waters of Ionia; nine grandchildren; 15 
great grandchildren; one brother, Glenn Waters of Midland. He was preceded by a 
sister, Jennie Huntley.

Funeral and committal services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, at Zion United 
Methodist Church with the Rev. Kenneth Harger officiating. The burial will be 
at the Easton Cemetery in the spring. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 to 4 
p.m. and 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Meyers Memorial Chapel. Organist will be Sally 
Flanders. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Michael, Robert, Paul and Philip 
Seidelman, Robert Waters, Jr., Brian Waters, Steve Hurlbut, Tab Waterman, 
Joseph Wharry and Matthew Seidelman. 

Memorial contributions can be made to the Zion United Methodist Church in care 
of the funeral home
