Mrs. Myrtle Watkins, 86, 309 West Riverside Drive died Friday at 6 p.m. at the
Ionia County Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient since April 17 with
a hip fracture.  Mrs. Watkins was born Sept. 8, 1868, in Easton township, the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Fleming and had lived her entire life in Easton
township and Ionia.  She was married to Arthur Watkins in 1885.  She was a
member of the First Methodist church and a charter member of the American Legion
auxiliary.

Survivors are five sons, William of Caro, Bert of Flint, Charles of Ionia, Leo
of Saranac, and Perry of Lansing; one sister, Mrs. Nettie Simmons of Berlin
township; nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.  Mr. Watkins died
in 1948.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Boynton
funeral home.  The Rev. Heath T. Goodwin will officiate.  Interment will be in
the family plot in Easton cemetery.
