He was gassed while overseas in the World war, and tuberculosis developed. Returning from the war, Mr. Watkins spent some time in Oklahoma and then came to Portland, where his mother, Mrs. Maime Watkins, resided, his wife and young son accompanying him, but a few months ago they returned to Oklahoma, Mr. Watkins’ condition gradually becoming worse. His mother, who now resides in Lansing, and his brother, Roy, left that city for the West after receipt of news of his death. Orville was born at Mulliken 33 years ago. His boyhood days were spent in Portland. At one time he was employed as a compositor on the Review. He was never strong and the war experience wrecked his health.
