Ray Watson, a son of Mrs. Ed. Ward, died Friday evening after a lingering illness from tuberculosis. The funeral was held yesterday afternoon, the Rev. Arthur Trott of the Methodist church officiating. The young man attended the Portland schools for a number of years and after taking a business course at Lansing he worked for a time at Gladstone. The first symptoms of the disease manifested themselves there and he went to Montana in search of health. He contracted typhoid there and returning to Portland his decline for many months has been steady. Ray Watson was a boy of exemplary habits and his friends have watched the slow wasting away with sorrow.
