                        Henry Watson

Henry Watson, 59, a lifelong reside of this area died at Butterworth hospital in 
Grand Rapids on January 4. Services were held at the Roth Funeral Home in Lowell 
on Monday, with the Reverand Phillip Goltfelty and Rev. R.M. Vanden Bosch 
officiating. Burial was in Chapel Hill Cemetery, Grand Rapids with Lowell Lodge 
No.90 F&AM giving the committal service.

Henry Watson better known as "Mike" was born in Oakfield Township, August 15, 
1903, son of Tom & Effie Watson.He spent his boyhood there; in 1919 he came to 
Lowell and was associated with his father in the implement business. In 1925 he 
became Standard Oil distributor in Lowell and later in Cedar Springs. He then 
purchased and operated a general store in Smyrna until 1949 when he bought a 
grocery store in Stanton and conduced this business until 1958. Since that time 
he has resided at his farm in Ada Township and has been associated with Rich 
Laundry Equipment Co. in Grand Rapids.

His hobby during these last few years has been breeding and raising of 
Registered Polled Herford Cattle. He has been a member of Lowell Lodge No 90 
F&A.M. since 1924 and Hooker Chapter,R.A.M. since May 1926 and served as clerk 
of Otisco township for twelve yers.

Survivors are his life, the former Elva Fairchild; a daughter, Gloria 
(Mrs.Spencer Rich) two granddaughters Georgia and Lauree, five sisters; 
Mrs.Marion Thompson, Grand Rapids; Miss Abbie Watson, Washington,D.C.; Mrs.Helen 
Dutmer, Grand Rapids; Mrs.Jean Cseko, Gratten Twp.; Mrs Eleanor Lessner, 
Charlotte; two brothers, John Watson of Gratten and Tom Watsn of Cedar Springs.
